Just across the border with Senegal you will find Fatala, a small safari park where you can take a guided tour of about 2 hours. You can come face to face with rhinos, giraffes, zebras, lions and various other native animal species.

They also offer the opportunity to take a walk with the lions for an additional fee of GMD 3000 p.p.

Brikama trip

We will start at the Brikama craft market, here you will find the most beautiful handmade woodwork, then we will go to the Brikama animal market. Where you can see how the Gambians have control over the bargaining game, to sell their animals as favorably as possible.
Optionally we can visit the local market. We will take the time to enjoy a local lunch in Brikama.

After a visit to the river where they harvest oysters, we will end the day with a visit to Batokunko beach for a refreshing dip in the water, and enjoy one of the most beautiful beaches that Gambia has to offer.

Pelican Island, Senegal

Early in the morning we will leave by car for Casemas Senegal. There we will get on a boat to pelican island, here it is a coming and going of pelicans and other birds. We will sail to get on land in a taxi and visit one of the largest trees in Senegal, followed by a visit to a local village. Then we will take a boat back to our car to continue our way home.

James iland kunta kinte slave island gambia

James island

Former James Island, now better known as Kunta Kinteh, an impressive trip that takes you into a piece of history. Here you will find a large statue of liberty, a slave with broken chains with the inscription “never again” something that is already impressive. You will go from the birthplace of Kunta Kinteh by boat to James Island. There you will get a tour of the ruins of James Island. This was the final station of the slaves. Because of this it is also called the “point-of-no-return”. Once you ended up here as a slave, he or she was guaranteed never to see his or her family again. From James Island the slaves were transported overseas to, among others, America, Cuba and Europe.

Day 1:


You will be picked up at the agreed location, from there we drive for about 5/6 hours through the new bridge towards the inlands of  The Gambia. Here we will spend the night. In the afternoon we will make a boat trip over The Gambia river to baboon island, where we will look for chimpanzees and with a bit of luck we will encounter hippos along the way. In the Lodge there is an opportunity to have lunch and dinner. The evening you have time to enjoy the surroundings.


Day 2: 


After breakfast we will set off again, we will visit the stone circles and the slave island Georgetown.
On this day you also have the opportunity to visit a local village or school. Please let us know if you would like that.

After breakfast we will set off again. We will leave for home via Georgetown or James Island
