Abuko nature reserve
Although the Big Five does not live in the Abuko Nature Reserve, as you are used to in other African countries. You do have the chance to come face to face with crocodiles, monkeys, snakes, and there are countless birds to spot. There is about 5 kilometers of hiking trails in the park, but it is recommended to go with a guide. For a few dalasi you can hire a guide who will tell you all about the flora and fauna of the park in 1.5 hours and is specialized in spotting all the animals in the park.

Always wanted to see a crocodile up close, then this is the place for you!
In the freshwater pool live dozens of crocodiles together, who are used to people. Because of this they can be approached and even petted if you dare. This place is also considered a place of pilgrimage for infertile women, they sometimes come here to bathe in the water they believe has healing powers.

Sanyang beach
One of the most beautiful beaches of Gambia can be found here. A wide beach, with lovely spots where you can enjoy the Gambian sun while enjoying a cold drink or a delicious lunch or dinner (please inform the staff in advance). On Sundays you can enjoy local wrestling matches.

Tanji fishmarket
Early in the morning or around evening it is bustling with people. The catch of the day is brought in. You see the local boats coming in, a lot of women with buckets on their heads, wheelbarrows full of fish, and everyone trying to get the best products to sell. Monkeypark
In this park you will find 3 types of monkeys. There is a walking path of about 5 km through the park. On site there are guides to hire, they can tell you more about the monkeys, nature and other animals that live here. But that is not mandatory. You can also buy food, so that you can feed the monkeys.

Lamin lodge
Lamin Lodge is a great place to hop on a boat for a trip through the mangroves, looking for the elephant tree and on the way you might meet the local women who harvest the oysters that grow in the mangroves.
